Kettle Valley Railway
I’m taking a break from packing to write you this update. Tomorrow afternoon I will be boarding a plane for the first leg of my journey to Kenya. Leaving from Edmonton and landing in Toronto, London, and finally Nairobi, I will arrive at my destination Monday night, if the Lord wills it.
June has been a month of visiting with family, friends, and Christians in Alberta. After nearly two years in Montreal, it’s been great to visit with much of my extended family, reconnect with old friends, and spend time worshiping with the Christians in my hometown. I sure miss you Montreal folks, though!
After a meeting with their Missions Committee, Balmoral Bible Chapel offered to lend me a new laptop computer for my year of work, so I’m very happy and grateful that I’m able to take such a nice machine with me. My thanks also go to Waskasoo Bible Fellowship for their support and encouragement.
Please pray for safe and smooth travels as I make my way across the globe, and for the adjustment phase as I fit into the new surroundings, pace, and culture in Nairobi. I hope to have lots of energy and a great attitude! Also, CHAK is in the process of hiring two Kenyan programmers to join the project. Please pray for this process—that we would find the right people for the team.
Thanks for all those who have contacted or approached me about praying on an ongoing basis. I’m still looking to double the number of people officially on my list of prayer supporters, so if you think I may be missing you (or someone you know who is praying for me), don’t hesitate to send me an email!
Thanks again for all of your support. I look forward to writing you my next update... from Kenya!
